In 1950 the Soviet government made a decision to build on the bank of the Siberia`s largest I river Enisey weapons plutonium production facility - Krasnoyarsk Mining Chemical Combine. For decades coolant from through-way production reactors, contaminated by radioactivity, was discharge into the river. The water flow brought radioactivity thousand) miles away from the discharge point - up to the mouth of the Enisey in the Kara Sea.
